Martin Luther King, Jr. Al presents two speeches of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. including Awakening the Dream and Beyond Vietnam.

AWAKENING THE DREAM – The soul of Martin Luther King echoes prophetically beyond the 1960s to address current issues such as the economic disparity in the United States, the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, and the silence of complicity exhibited by so many American churches.

"I commend Al Staggs for his powerful presentation of Martin Luther King Jr. The words of Dr. King as portrayed in this presentation brought to light the insightfulness, inspiration, and challenge of Dr. King even for today's world"

- Rev. Jim Mohr, College Chaplain, Westminster College

BEYOND VIETNAM – Dr. King's most controversial speech, delivered at the Riverside Baptist Church on April 4, 1967, when the Vietnam War was still supported by a majority of American citizens. In this speech Dr. King denounced the cost of the war in both lives and treasure, thus combining the Civil Rights Movement with the fledgling Anti-War movement. He was assassinated exactly one year later on April 4, 1968.

"You made King and the speech real for us."

- Aidsand F. Wright-Riggins III, Executive Director, American Baptist Home Mission Societies
